Firm Profile

The Sauls Law Firm was established to provide families with professional legal representation when they need it. The firm handles all areas of family law and misdemeanor criminal law including:

1) Divorce- The divorce process can be passive or aggressive, depending on the ability of the two parties to agree upon the issues in the case. The more the parties can agree upon, the easier (and less costly) it will be.

2) Child Custody- In Georgia, the court always looks to what is in the best interest of the child. The court has several factors that it weighs in determining who should have custody of a child. A few of these factors are the circumstances of the parties, the needs of the child, the age of the child, and the desires of the child.

3) Child Support- Both parents have the responsibility to pay support for their minor child.. Child support is awarded bases on the child's needs and the ability of the parents to pay the support. The State of Georgia has guidelines for calculating the amount of support each parent is ordered to pay. These guidelines look at the child's all around cost of living. Child Support may be adjusted in Georgia when there has been a substantial change in circumstances of either parent and the needs of the child.

4) Family and Domestic Violence- Family Violence is an issue that requires immediate action, whether you are a victim or if you have been wrongly accused. Victims of Family Violence need immediate protection from their attacker. In many instances, Victims of Family Violence are terrified to seek help, but they should know that these attacks seem to get more violent as time continues on. On the other hand people who are wrongly accused need to seek immediate action to stop wrongful prosecution. A Family Violence Protective Order against an individual who is wrongly accused always has an impact on child custody, parenting time and visitation. It is also possible and highly likely that the person accused has criminal charges pending as well as a Protective Order pending against them. Immediate attention is needed to afford the accused with a proper defense as well as to ensure the parenting time and visitation are restored.

5) Criminal Defense- Misdemeanor charges such as Shoplifting, Simple Battery, Driving Under The Influence, Family Violence, and Simple Possession are among a few charges that can ruin a young persons dreams. If someone is charged with these crimes it is necessary to seek immediate help to afford a legitimate defense. Many times people charged with these offenses plead guilty thinking a fine and a few other obstacles are all they have to face, but to the contrary these charges always seem to come back to haunt that individual when undertaking future endeavors. If you are any of your family members are faced with these circumstances please call the Sauls Law Firm so we can protect your family.
